We did the Hanoi street food tour, the Nihn Bihn tour and the private cooking class with Rose. Rose is very enthusiastic and passionate about food and her country, and her English is very good. Rose showed us the best food spots, took us to the best places in Ninh Binh and learned us to cook Vietnamese food. She is patient and incredibly helpful with everything that you need. We had some fantastic days with her. Would highly recommend.

I have always enjoyed taking cooking classes while traveling. The experience of visiting local markets and learning how to work with local ingredients is a joy.

My experience with Rose, however, took this pleasure to a new level. Her knowledge of the local contexts within historical and global realities is so illuminating. Our stroll through the local market was respectful and informative. I felt that each item she purchased and every vendor she worked with was directly connected to the meal we were soon to be crafting together.

From the market, we walked to her teaching kitchen. This open air space was structured to provide plenty of workspace for us to cook together. Rose made sure I was able to participate in each step of the process. I chopped vegetables, mixed sauces, prepared pork fillings, and fried spring rolls. Rose was a wonderful teacher, explaining and demonstrating the various skills necessary for the creation of each dish. Her cousin, Maya was a kind assistant and made sure things moved along efficiently.

The menu was well designed so that the dishes were ready at the same time. (Bun Cha, Banana Blossom Salad, and Spring Rolls.) Our feast was shared in her lovely second floor dining area.

I am currently writing this review from Mai Chau were I have enjoyed two meals. Rose’s class gave me a greater appreciation of these as I could recognize the work that goes into each aspect of the various dishes.

I cannot recommend this private class highly enough!

There is no such good experience! I was impressed with Rose's hard work! The food I was taught was the most delicious Vietnamese food I had ever eaten. The experience in the market was also exciting. My husband can speak Japanese, so even Japanese people can rest assured. I want to experience it again when I come to Hanoi!

My daughter and I spent 5.5 amazing days with Rose, including a food tour, a cooking class and moped tour in Hanoi, as well as trips to Halong Bay and Ninh Binh. From the first interaction, Rose was responsive, professional and easy to work with. Her ideas for our trip were fantastic and she quickly determined the kind of experience we were looking for. We were sorry to have to say good bye when it was over. I highly recommend her, she is FABULOUS!

Rose is a delightful and engaging young chef with excellent English and a gift for teaching.. We so enjoyed our time with her. Our cooking class in her modern and spotlessly clean kitchen was so much fun. We chose three Vietnamese dishes that we wanted to learn to cook and learn we did! Tofu and tomatoes is our favorite of the three and we now make it weekly at our home in Oregon.

The local market tour was a wonderful mix of people, food, color and hospitality. The fresh tofu was the best that I have had in forty years of cooking with tofu. Melt in your mouth yummy!

Phil found silkworms at the Market. Rose gamely purchased some and added them to our three dish feast.

Rose was recommended to us by a long-time friend who Lhasa lived in Vietnam for five years. We booked other tours with her during this trip and were happy with each encounter. Thank you, Rose, from Anne and Phil in Oregon, US.
