What To Expect

Hue Imperial City (The Citadel)

Our private Hue Full Day City Tour has to start at the amazing 19th century Citadel of Hue which surrounds the original Imperial City, the Purple Forbidden Palace and various ancient monuments. More recently in 1968, and during the Tet Offensive, the most famous “Battle of Hue” resulted in enormous damage to both the city and Citadel – you will see signs of this and rebuilding works to this day.

Thien Mu Pagoda

We must eventually leave the Citadel of Hue and its intriguing history to visit the very special Thien Mu (Heavenly Lady) pagoda overlooking the Perfume River which at 7 stories high originally built in 1601. If time permits we will arrange a private Dragon boat trip along the Perfume River from city to Pagoda for you to enjoy the peaceful vibe of the city from the boat. This comes with an extra charge of $15/ single boat, please note to us.

Returning to Hue city we visit Bun Bo Ly Thuong Kiet, an amazing Hue local restaurant where you can try Bun Bo Hue. It is a must-eat Hue specialty that you have to try while in the city.

Tomb of Tu Duc

In the later half of your Private Hue Full Day City Tour, we will take you to visit Tu Duc royal tomb. There are 7 Hue Imperial tombs built by the Nguyen kings along the Perfume River and in the surrounding countryside. Located in a narrow valley 8 km from Hue in Duong Xuan Thuong village, Tu Duc’s tomb is one of the most beautifully designed complexes and is embedded in a lush pine forest. Together with my team, you will hear story of Emperor Tu Duc and admire his quiet and peaceful work of art.

You will also have chance to visit the Incense village and make yourself this craft work.

Tomb of Minh Mang

The Art of Discipline is seen in Ming Mang Tomb which is about 20 kilometer away from Hue Center. The red and yellow lacquer building combined with the straight line of palaces will speak a lot about the Emperor’s personality himself.

Tomb of Khai Dinh

The Place of Fusion Art is what we can describe of Khai Dinh Tomb. We will take you to visit this place at the end of your day in Hue. This Hue attraction is a special Hue tomb that was built during the transition of Vietnam into an era of Vietnam being colonized by France. You will be amazed by its fusion art and architecture.

Even though i am writing the review 4 months after my visit to Vietnam.. i cant thank enough Ms Thu and her entire team of Bee Bee Travel for making our entire trip wonderful.. The team was very knowledgeable, friendly and always happy to answer all our questions.. We took various trips from them including hue walking tour, phong na cave visit and Ninh Binh one day tour.. Bee Bee travel were recommended to us from a few sources and they had a great variety of tours. I emailed a few times with my indecision and they were very patient with their recommendations. We chose the private tour which we were very thankful we did with the Covid19 on the loose.
Our guide Tuan was amazing, knowledgable, funny and very happy to answer our questions and show us more than was required. He shared information daily life and disasters in his lifetime for which we felt honoured to have heard. We asked to see an extra tomb and both Tuan and Bee Bee onblighed ...thank you.
Tuan was one of the best guides we encountered. Thank you ...we loved Hue and it’s history.

Enjoyable Drive from Hoi An and Hue City Tour

Bee Bee travel organized a car, driver and guide to travel from Hoi An to Hue and a full day tour of Hue. Thu replied immediately to our emails and set us up with Mr, Tan, our driver and Ms. My, our guide. Both were delightful travel companions for the drive from Hoi An, with a visit to Marble mountains and Da Nang, and visits to the sites of Hue the following day. Tan was super polite and friendly. My was young, energetic, interesting and a perfect guide - full of information, but did not overwhelm us with too much detail. Our two days with both of them were fun and informative, a real highlight of our three weeks in Vietnam.

An excellent way to see the main attractions in a day

We (my wife and I) had a full day tour of the citadel, pagoda and the main tombs.
Our guide, Tomato, spoke excellent English and was very funny and knowledgeable.
Our driver, Mr Bing was excellent and the car was clean and comfortable.
Lunch was the local speciality, Bun Bo Hue. Delicious.
We really enjoyed the tour and definitely got more from the sights by having a guide.

Awesome day in/around Hue with My!!!

My husband and I booked a last minute Hue tour and had a fantastic day with My exploring the Imperial City and 3 different Emperor tombs! We were promptly picked up in a nice car (at the time of our choosing - we wanted to start early). We headed straight over to the Imperial City, where My showed us all around the main attractions and provided lots of colorful history. We were there about 2.5 hours and didn’t feel rushed at all - we ask A LOT of questions :). From there we explored 3 separate tombs, again added to with lots of details by My. Everything was spot on and we would definitely recommend their services! We really enjoyed our day, and very much enjoyed getting to learn from My (and get to know her a bit better too) - her knowledge and command of English are top notch!
