Informative and FUN!

We had such a wonderful and informative day with Ms Fi! Started at the citadel she took us around and explained what the meaning of different buildings were and the history of the 13 kings. We also went to a delicious lunch in Hue (best we’ve had in Vietnam!) and to a pagoda via dragon boat before finally ending at the grave of the 12th king. We found ourselves laughing and fully immersed in Ms Fi’s knowledge. Would definitely recommend this tour if you are looking for a day trip to Hue!
The Perfect Way to tour Hue

Hue is indeed a little far from Hoi An but you will not regret going!. Our driver picked us up on time and we picked up our guide Phi in Hue, a very nice young lady who spoke a great english as well as majored in College in Vietnamese Culture. She was an incredible source of information. She could answer all our questions and was the perfect guide! Khai Dinh is jaw dropping beautiful We had never seen such a beautiful ceramic artistry! Of course the Imperial city and the Citadel are also very impressive. We had an incredible lunch as well, a set menu where we had many Hue specialties. It was the best Vietnamese food we had so far! The only thing that was unnecessary was the boat trip on the Perfume River. There is actually not much to see there. As it a private tour, you may want to see if there is something else that you can do instead.
Fun, entertaining and comfortable journey to discover Hue, Nguyen dynasty and her people

Ms Van, our lovely guide for Hue and our wonderful driver (I think his name is Mr Son) brought us on a fun, entertaining and comfortable journey from Hoi An to discover and learn more on the historic Hue and her people.
Mr Son came early and was kind to let us finish our breakfast, before whisking us away on a 2.5 hours drive from Hoi An to Hue, which includes a lot of singing along to music. For those prone to motion sickness, please eat some medicine (such as Veloxin) before the journey as the Hai Van pass is windy but very very very scenic and beautiful. We witnessed Mr Son’s expert driving skills as he navigate the windy pass and the opposite vehicles going down the pass. After the pass, we stopped by at the famous Lap An lagoon. Here, we had a coffee and toilet break before continuing our journey.
After we picked up Ms Van as Hue, she brought us to Khai Dinh Tomb, the 12th king of the Nguyen dynasty and shared many interesting stories about him and the tomb design. Then we had a delicious lunch consisting of Bahn Beo, Goi Cuon, Nem Luy, Bahn Xeo and Cha Ram (this was covered in our tour except the drinks, which you will need to pay on your own).
Next, we went to Hue Historic Citadel and learnt more on the kings from the Nguyen Dynasty, especially the last king and his queen. Then, we went to the oldest pagoda Thien Mu and learn the difference between pagoda and temple. Despite the rain that started to get heavy, we manage to dash to take a Dragon boat along the Huong River. As a way to support the local community impacted by Covid, we bought quite a few souvenirs on the boat. After that, Mr Son was ready to take us back to Hoi An.
For those who are not sure on how much to tip, I always go with the amount I would spend on treating lunch with a friend.
Hue for a day

Great experience with a wonderfully kind and knowledgeable guide.

We were picked up in Hoi An by a super friendly driver. On our way to Hue he pointed out key landmarks and the landscapes were amazing. We bought some pearls from a local farm who treated us to great coffee.

We visited the 12th tomb and then the citadel and the riverside pagoda, all throughout with great insights thanks to Tuan. Lunch was delicious too!

Greatly recommended.

Mr Hoa offered us Minh Mang Royal Tomb and it was really fabulous. Thank you so much for a great tour of Hue.
