Overview

Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.
We board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is handy.
On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – the Red Bridge chefs first demonstrate each dish before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, we sit down and eat what we have cooked

Cooking class made fun!
Deidrec139, 10-01-2020
Our family enjoyed the Cooking Class thoroughly! The professional and friendly guides and assistant chefs made the half day excursion one of our favourites of our 3 week trip. The market visit was informative and the knowledgeable guide could explain and identify all the products in English for us,which we enjoyed and didn't get this at other food trips we have been on. The basket coracles tide was really lovely except the only negative here was that the guides on these took several calls on their cel phones which was rather load and off putting. The cooking class was the best of all. With friendly and very professional guidance all 4 of us had our own cooking station amd were in a group of 9 in our section of the class. So we could all keepnup.even my 8 year old son managed really well on his own, surprising us with his enthusiasm and abilities! The 6 course meal was prepared with fresh ingrediants.afterwards we fit to enjoy each of these dishes together. Thanks for a lovely classmremember when booking this is the Hoi An Cooking Class. Fabulous tour. Started with vist to the old town markets of Hoi An. Then on to a boat trip to the Red Bridge cooking school. Our chef was hilarious. Greeted at the school with a lovely refreshing drink and given a tour of the herb garden and explained the uses of the herbs. We then proceeded to make our own lunch under the guidance of our chef and his helpers. Banh Xeo pancakes have become my favorite food. Lunch was delicious and made even more so because we cooked it ourselves. A great way to spend a few hours.
