I would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to sapa. It was a truly magical journey and well worth the effort of making it to the top. The guide Minh was a lovely fella with very good english who filled us in about the local knowledge of the area. We also had a porter who carried up a lot of the gear we used over the two days.

Some tips on what to bring:
No need for snacks (the guys feed you so much its amazing)
Trekking shoes not 100% essential but are a bonus (we did it in running shoes)
A good hat, gloves, warm coat and a raincoat would be essential items in my eyes.
Get a bamboo walking stick as you go up as it will help in the later more steep stages of the hike.
Two day trek to Mt Fansipan

First of all, it was a great experience and we would totally do it again!
We first thought about climbing Mt Fansipan on our own in one day and then either go down the same way or take the cable car down. But we didn't find much information about it and no maps. Also we weren't too sure if there would be many people and how the conditions of the path would be after almost two years without tourists. So if you are having the same thoughts: the path is rather easy to find and if you are fit, and climbed mountains before you can go up by yourself, but to go up and down in one day means hiking for around 12 hours and I would only recommend this option to really experienced hikers. If you plan to take the cablecar, you should inform yourself when the last ride goes and know that they don't sell single way tickets, so it's quite expensive!
We decided to go with a guide and enjoy the slightly longer two day hike and didn't regret it.
We contacted Mr Tinh and communication with him was easy and straightforward. He organised everything the day before. We then started at Xin Chai village with our guide Mr Singh and another guy who carried the food and sleeping bags for us. On the first day we hiked to a camp at around 2700m where we spend the night. The next day we got up at 3:30am to start early to be at the summit for sunrise. Unfortunately it was very misty so we only saw some orange clouds, but after waiting for a while the clouds went away and we had a nice view. Also it was very good to be there early enough before all the tourists from the cablecar arrive! We hiked down to the Tram Ton pass where Mr Tinh picked us up.
We had a good time, Mr Singh is a very good guide, he's nice, speaks English very well and told us a lot about the mountain.
An Amazing expedition with an amazing organisation

Tính collected my friend and I from Lào Cai Station Saturday morning at 6am (train gave us a good night sleep).
Day kicked off with breakfast, then to the starting point. The guides Song and Lu were friendly, helpful and interested to share about their Hmung culture which was a real plus.
Trek itself starts off easy but get's challenging in the later stages with significant ascent and descent.
Well organised with great food cooked for us.
Great tour.
