What To Expect

Hau Thao

Sa Pa – Ham Da – Hau Thao – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa
At 9 am. Our local guide will meet you at your hotel in Sapa or in the font of Sapa’s main church. After a short introduction, we will take 1km uphill on a small trail to the mountain views where you will get to see the Fansipan mountain 3.143m, highest in Asia and see all of Sapa town. From here, you will get to see the famous and most significant rice terrace fields in Vietnam (in Muong Hoa valley) as well as see the biggest river and valley in Sapa. After enjoying the beautiful landscape, we will be continuing our way on mountainside down to Ham Da, a village of Black Hmong minority. The tour will give you the chance to see some animals such as buffalos, cores, pigs. And then we will have lunch at a small restaurant run by a local family.

After lunch, we will make our way on a small road down to Hau Thao, a village of Black Hmong ethnic minority. Here you will see the local’s daily life if it’s the right time you will get to see the local people are working on the fields such as harvesting or planting rice. Our tour guide will also introduce you to Hmong’s unique marriage traditions, rice fields work, and house building techniques. And then, we will walk to Giang Ta Chai village where our transport is waiting for us on the main road, and then bring us back to Sa Pa. End of the tour.

This trek was amazing with the views. You start down in Sapa and then the first half of the trek is basically all up hill. Moderately steep, but completely doable. Our guide was very kind and offered us breaks anytime we needed to catch our breath. Once we made it to the top of the mountain, we stopped for pictures and to take it all of the incredible views. After lunch, it’s all downhill. Again though, it’s steep! Make sure your shoes have good grip and that you’re calves/shins are ready to feel the burn. Also, very important thing - bring sunblock/sunscreen. And don’t forget the water.

Overall, wonderful experience. 10/10 would recommend.

The trekking tour was nice and our guide was really friendly. The landscapes are amazing. The price proposed by the tour is really correct for the services included for foreigner people aha. The company is really helpful and convenient, that is why I gave 5 stars.
However, we were a bit disappointed. As Sa Pa is very touristic, you will have also some inconveniences due to it. Concernant the home stay, food was really good and the house quite confortable. The hosts were nice, but not friendly as expected (but I think all home stay hosts are quite the same). We can feel that home stay is a business now in Sa Pa.

Amaizing Trek in Sapa

If you would like to get real experience of Sapa, I highly recommend to join this tour!
The trek was slighly tough, but the view on top of the mountain was amaizing.
Not only the mountain view but also, we could meet local animals and people, enjoy the beautiful rice terrace.
This tour gave me unforgetable memory. Thank you!
