Location. Sofitel Metropole Hanoi is located in the city center of Hanoi, Viet Nam, 500 meters from Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, and three kilometers from the Citadel Quarter and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Hotel Features. Sofitel Metropole Hanoi was built in 1901 in French Colonial style, an identity the hotel has retained. Dining options include Le Beaulieu Restaurant, which serves French cuisine during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. Spices Garden Restaurant offers Vietnamese cuisine during lunch and dinner hours and overlooks the garden terrace. Le Club offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, a chocolate buffet and live piano music. Bamboo Bar offers ceiling fans, rattan armchairs, cocktails, snacks and live music. The hotel also offers a poolside bar. Recreation amenities include a fitness center, a sauna, a landscaped outdoor courtyard pool and massage services. The hotel also provides a business center and conference facilities. Guestrooms. The hotel s 363 guestrooms are located in two wings, the Metropole wing and the Opera Wing. Metropole Wing guestrooms are decorated in French Colonial style with period furnishings. Opera Wing rooms offer contemporary decor and include white walls and bedding which contrasts with dark furnishings. Amenities include Sofitel s signature My Bed, wireless Internet access for a fee, DVD players, direct-dial phones and bathroom phones. Rooms also include refrigerators, minibars and coffee and tea makers.
Expert Tip. Ngoc Son Temple, built in the 18th century as a shrine, is located on a small island in Hoan Kiem Lake. Accessible by a wooden footbridge, the temple opens onto a small courtyard. In addition to providing an example of the architecture of the period, the temple includes historic and religious displays. The temple is open daily.
